Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! It’s that time of year when my family and I PEDAL alongside hundreds of other YMCA staff and volunteers, to raise much needed funds for families in our community to access the healthy, empowering opportunities that the Y has to offer.

This is my 7th year taking part in the Annual Campaign and riding in Pedals for a Purpose!

We love the Y! My relationship with the Central Y began in January 2009 when Ava started at the Early Childcare Center, as a 3 month old, and I joined the “gym”. Over the past 7 years I have learned that the Y is so much more than just a gym! I have met and become friends with so many wonderful people through the Y community.  I will forever be grateful for the loving care and education that Ava received at the Early Childcare Center. During her almost 6 years there she was surrounded by caring, supportive, and loving people. In every class, from infants to toddlers to pre-K, she had amazing teachers and classmates that have helped shaped her into the amazing girl she is today. Many of these teachers and classmates are still part of our lives and we are thankful for the Y connection. Ava was more than ready for Kindergarten this past fall and the Y staff at the Early Childcare Center are the reason.

The Central Y Early Childcare Center is able to serve families of all economic backgrounds through scholarships. These scholarships are funded through campaigns such as this! Scholarships funded by the Annual Campaign and Pedals for a Purpose, make this opportunity available to everyone, no matter their ability to pay. Children that otherwise would not have the opportunity to go through a program like the Y Early Childcare Center are given the chance to thrive in a loving, caring environment. They are able to receive the same early education as Ava did and be ready tackle the world! This is why I Pedal for a Purpose!

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and please consider supporting me and my family as we ride during this year's Pedal for a Purpose Ride, May 18th, 2019!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Thanks!

Shannon, Ben and Ava

Pedaling Is Easy-- Here's How:

1. Gather a team of 10 and have the team captain register to secure the team's spot. Be sure to choose a time slot during registration.* You may also register by calling 509-777-9622 or stopping by any branch of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest.

2. Raise $1,000 or more as a team by May 18th through personal donations or pledges from your friends and family.

3. Find your team's fundraising page here or ask your team captain to create one to help your team meet its goals. Once the team captain has set up the page, team members can join and send the donation link to friends and family. Supporters don't need to create an account to donate online!

4. Arrive at the Spokane Community College Track on May 18th for your chosen time slot and get pedaling!!!

*Registration must be submitted by May 4th in order to secure your team's time slot and t-shirts. Time slots will be filled in the order registrations are received. We will contact you if we are unable to honor your time request, and you will have the opportunity to choose an alternate time.

No team?? We have a spot for you-- call 509-777-9622

When you pedal for a purpose with the YMCA, you ride for a cause to strengthen not just your legs and heart, but those in our community who need us most. Each dollar raised goes directly to a child or teen in need of a safe place before and after school; a family determined to live healthier, spend time together and have fun at the same time; or a senior in need of community where connections turn to friendships and health improves. All this and much more happens thanks to YMCA programs. Each turn of the wheel or step on a treadmill brings us all closer to our goal of supporting each family, child and senior that needs the support that the YMCA can bring to their lives.

When you pedal – a child, family or senior has a chance to thrive!
