Please help me raise money for the YMCA. These funds go to support the thousands of people in our community that the Y helps every year through an abundance of programs, opportunities, and life changing connections. The Y's mission work includes free Livestrong classes for cancer survivors, free safety around water lessons for youth, multiple programs paving the way to sustaining healthier and happier lifestyles, programs for those living with disabilities and their caregivers, childcare programs, teen programs, senior programs...you name it. The Y welcomes everyone in their doors regardless of their financial resources. Please help us ensure we can continue offering these wonderful opportunities to our community members in need. Your generosity and support is much appreciated!

My Y story started in 3rd grade as a young, promising, basketball player. Coached by my dad in the old Downtown YMCA gym, the only record I held was in how many "jump balls" I instigated. Little did I know, I was learning much more than just how to dribble and shoot. I was learning what it meant to strive for a goal, be a good teammate and communicate with others. 

Over the past 13+years, the Y has given me the opportunity to ensure that other children, no matter their family situation, learn those same lessons on the basketball court, swimming pool, teen leadership or child care programs. My own children have grown up in the Y's Early Childhoood Center, Day Camps, Camp Reed, T-Ball, Swim lessons, Y Basketball, volleyball and working out together to form lifelong healthy habits. There is no other childhood that I would want for my kids, and my goal is to make this childhood possible for all kids in Spokane and Sandpoint!

All kids, families, and adults deserve the same opportunities to LEARN, GROW and THRIVE in a nurturing environment, like at the YMCA. For this reason, I am participating in Fit For A Purpose and asking you to sponsor my hour of exercise on Saturday, April 23rd. Please consider $20, $50, $75 or $100 (more if you're so inclined ;) Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated!

The measure of a community is how we lift each other up. Thank you for contributing to the lives of others around you!

Thank you for being a part of Fit for a Purpose event, as a donor, we are able to serve our community well through Mission Programs. The funds raised help families live healthier lives. We are able to support children in the Early Learning Center with nutritious meals, build learning development in a fun and safe environment.  Also, equip and teach children to swim, provide meals for teens. And an enjoyable atmosphere for seniors to socialize.
